Hey guys, it’s Rastafari Prime here. I’m here to look back on God of War 3 and discuss why my thoughts on the future of the series. Without further ado, a little look in to the life of a legend : Kratos!
God of War III : The epic PS3 title.
God of War 3. The first and so far, only entry of the epic hack and slash series on the Playstation 3 back in 2010. Fans from far and wide ate this game up for one sheer fact. It kicked ass. And a lot of it. The graphics were eye candy, the gameplay was amazingly fun, and the narrative to it held you in as you went and finally sought your revenge against the Greek gods. Personally, it’s one of my favorite games thus far on the Playstation 3. Hey, the graphics alone still keep it looking shiny among these competitors.
"Who do I need to murder to get a- Wait, I killed everyone!"
Anyhow, there have been rumors traveling throughout the Game-o-Sphere ever since the game came out that there is potential for a fourth entry in the series! While this could be done in an epic fashion, I truly don’t believe Santa Monica should milk out any more murders from this killing machine.
And here’s why. “SPOILERS AHEAD” At the ending of God of War 3, Kratos murders all the Greek Gods leaving the world in an utterly devestation state. Then after a chat with Athena, his mother, he spouts off the epic line “My vengeance…ends now!” and stabs himself right through the gut. Now, after the credits roll, you see a trail of blood leading to the edge of the mountain. Most fans believe the brute picked himself up and trucked on. This is likely. But Kratos story had an end. It had a resolution. He murdered his family, in a blood-curdling rage, not realizing Zeus had pulled the wool over his eyes. Thus, causing his craze for Zeus’s head. Which he got, but then later on, he realized self- acceptance. He took responsibilty on the only one person for the crime. Himself. Kratos was a hero, but a broken one. He enacted his revenge, but soon realized that he was responisible. And he accepted this.
Now, that I’ve explained all that, this is why I see another God of War game completely blasphemous. Kratos’s story has been told. Besides, what else could Kratos possibly do? Fight trees? He’s basically destroyed the world. Leave Kratos in peace, and kick start a whole new IP, Santa Monica. I’d love to see a new masterpiece out of you guys and girls!
